(More customer reviews)The item arrived without any written instructions.When I figured out how the (included) clamp would attach to the pole I realized that, after installation, the baffle would slide down a few inches- maybe enough for a squirrel to bypass. I decided to use a hard rubber gasket instead. This "retainer" can be pushed all the way up the neck of the baffle- with NO slippage and no sqirrels. Works fine!

Super Songbird Station Review

(More customer reviews)I thought this would be a great feeder, boy was I wrong. First, I filled it with black oil sunflower seed and it immediately leaned over. The bottom is such cheap plastic that it can't support the feeder when you fill it. It is still bent. I thought I would put it up anyway. A day later we had a pretty good rain storm and the food inside got pretty wet. The third time I went to fill it, the top wouldn't line up right and it is still not really on the darn thing. I am so dissappointed with this.
Pros: It's large, so I don't have to fill it often in cold, snowy winters. The birds absolutely LOVE it.
Cons: VERY CHEAP plastic on the bottom. Leaks. Top is cheap and hard to line up to seal.
I have other Kaytee feeders that are wonderful Hopefully they will fix the problems and redo this one.

(More customer reviews)I mistakenly bought a few of these thinking they'd be glass--like my old ones. Mistake. A thin (I mean THIN) plastic. I was too lazy to go back and check if "plastic" was used in the description. But I knew as soon as my UPS driver handed me the box something wasn't right--it was light as air. No--as light as thin plastic. Alas, they might work come spring. But I'm from the old school--I like heft. And somehow bird feeders gotta take a licking to keep on ticking.

Protected Bluebird Jail Feeder Review

(More customer reviews)I have only had this feeder for 2 weeks now but the birds have not figured out how to feed out of it. Although the squirels have. I am hoping they just need a little more time and maybe I should take down one of the feeders they are more familar with and then they would eat out of it. Although, the worms cant get out of the little cup you are supposed to put them in which is good!!!! I am going to give my birds a little more time to figure out the feeder and how to get to the food/worms in it before I call it a waste of my money. I think I am going to take down a couple of other feeders the birds are more familar with and see if they use the Jail feeder more. I will leave a message with the results.

I purchased it for my boss who has Multiple Sclerosis and has limited use of
her hands. She is an avid reader and loves dogs! She uses it often to prop up the book she is reading or to hold her book open while reading in the kitchen. She liked it so much I thought I would get her another one to keep in her livingroom.
I wasn't able to make it back to Maine, but I did manage to purchase it online
through Amazon.com. I was very pleased with my purchase and they sent it when they
said they would. It came well packaged and in good shape. I will be giving it
to her for Christmas and I'm sure she'll love it!

Wild Bird Super Solar Sipper (White) Review

(More customer reviews)I have had this sipper for a year in my garden and I have yet to see any bird drink from it either in summer or winter. I get plenty of birds attracted to the feeders for seeds and suet but unfortunately they ignore the sipper in summer and in winter it seems to be frozen most of the time. I would not buy this item again and I think it is way too over priced.

Stovall 4H Woodpecker House Review

(More customer reviews)We put this house up in January (we live in Central Florida) and within 2 weeks it was being visited by our local woodpecker pair. I don't think they actually moved in, maybe because they already had a nest set up somewhere else, but at least they've noticed it and I've seen them going in from time to time. Maybe next year it will get lived in.
I've also seen squirrels go in and heard them digging around, but they don't seem to be living in it either. We'll see what happens as time goes by. I'm happy with it, though, and the critters seem to have no problem with it either.

(More customer reviews)This tube feeder is pretty good. I've got this one and also the one without the wooden tray and top that's made by the same company. I actually prefer the model without the wood components. Mine actually doesn't have the wooden tray attached to it anymore. After some time had passed, I just simply tore it off. That's not a problem though because without the wooden tray, the feeder's bottom is identical to the other tube feeder model without the wooden parts (The wooden tray wasn't that strong.). The birds use this tube feeder quite a bit, but not always as much as the one without the wooden parts--both of them contain the same type of seed. Location could be the reason for that maybe. I also use a baffle above it to deter squirrels and to keep it from getting wet. I recommend getting the model without the wooden top and tray though. I actually rate this feeder 3.5 stars. It's still a good feeder that gets the job done with the birds.

20 inch Hanging Squirrel Baffle Review

(More customer reviews)Some, but not all, of my squirrel population outsmarted this baffle. However, I then hung another baffle between this one and the feeder, so they have 2 obstacles to cross, and that helped a bit more. This definitely would work better with a short feeder (4-5 inches). The longer feeders give the critters more options when coming down off of the baffle(s).

(More customer reviews)This feeder is labeled "squirrel proof," but in three weeks, it has been used almost exclusively by squirrels, who cling upside down to the bottom and feed at will! The only bird I've seen use this feeder was a Carolina wren, and that was only once. Nuthatches and woodpeckers check it out but so far have refused to go through the outer cage or access the suet from the bottom. I can probably deter the squirrels by putting a piece of wood on the bottom of the inner cage that holds the suet, but if the birds still won't use the feeder, it will turn out to have been a waste of money.

Unless placed strategically it does not deter the squirrels though, and its collapsible nature makes refilling a little more complicated. All in all, however, it is a very nice and convenient birdfeeder.

(More customer reviews)This very attractive and well made feeder has one fatal flaw: the screen is not fine enough to keep the thistle seed from falling out as the finches feed. As they walk over the mesh and pick seed through it, many seeds falls to the little saucer below, filling it up to overflowing and then falling to the ground, wasted. I had as many as 14 finches at one time feeding, and they loved it. But it would be emptied in one day! I can see no purpose in losing so much seed and returned the feeder to Amazon. A finer mesh would make this a great feeder.

Birds flock to them as they can hang onto the sides and not fight over perches. I have seen as many as 12 on this one in particular. Easy for them to feed and the squirrels can not get to the food inside. Well made construction and overall great design. I truly recommend this product.
