(More customer reviews)Although attractive, this horrible product trapped a tiny little chickadee as it tried to perch on the stand (I ground-mounted it). We discovered him after he had nearly pecked his own leg off trying to escape. I was able to free him by prying the bars of the mounting stand apart, all the while scaring the poor creature closer to death, and he was finally able to fly off where I'm certain he will die, either from trauma or an infection. I'm terribly disappointed with this product. Please be aware of this awful flaw and don't use the stand to mount the bowl.

Stovall 10H Nursery Bat House Review

(More customer reviews)The bat house from Stovall seems to be pretty well constructed, for the most part. Although, the vent at the bottom is larger ( about 3/4" or so) than the 1/2" that is usually specified in plans that are available for making one yourself. I don't know if that size vent is a problem or not. The stick that you see sticking out the top of the bat house, is the hanger. There were no real instructions that came with the bat house. There is a sticker on that hanger stick that tells you to swivel it up and reinstall the 2 screws that come with the house. There is a pilot hole drilled through the top of that stick, apparently for a user supplied screw to mount the house.
The house weighs about 17 lbs and I didn't think that 1 screw would be sufficient to attach the house to my pole. I drilled another pilot hole a couple of inches below the original mounting hole and attached the house to my pole with 2 #8 screws. The 2nd screw split the hanger stick pretty bad, so I had to make another one. The included hanger stick doesn't seem to be cedar like the outside of the house. I had some cedar planks, so the new hanger board that I made is cedar and will last as long as the house.
The house has 3 chambers inside, with fine netting attached to the surfaces. There is no landing platform for the bats, that you see on many of the bat house designs and I couldn't detect any openings between the chambers. I don't know if any of these things are an issue for bat occupancy of the house.
I mounted the house on a pole, generally following the instructions found in this booklet, The Bat House Builder's Handbook: Second Edition [BAT HOUSE BUILDERS HANDBK -OS], since there were no instructions with the Stovall bat house. If you don't already know how to install one of these houses in an optimal manner for bat occupancy, I'd suggest buying one of these type books.

(More customer reviews)I've had this feeder up for about 3 weeks in addition to some more traditional hummingbird feeders. The hummers haven't seemed to have discovered it yet. I've cleaned it once & replaced the nectar and I was impressed with how easy it was to clean and reassemble. The top & bottom pieces are made of a pliable rubber material that seems like it will hold up to all weather conditions.

Esschert Design USA AM09 Aged Metal Low Hook Bracket Review

(More customer reviews)The photo for this item shows two hooks of differing styles. Because of that, I assumed (incorrectly) that the item included both hooks. It does not. There was also no place to indicate which style you might want, which also indicated to me that both hooks would be included. I received my least favorite hook of the two. Seems expensive for what you get and seems too expensive to return it. Sloppy and somewhat fraudulent advertising.

Wagner's 57075 Safflower Seed, 5-Pound Bag Review

Wild Finch Blend Bird Food Review

(More customer reviews)The birds love this seed. At $1 per pound, and the fact that shipping is by Amazon Prime, it's reasonably cost effective compared to other bird seeds on Amazon.
My one complaint is that a five pound bag is much too small. They should be selling this in a 10 pound minimum size, and preferably have options for 20 and 50 pounds.

(More customer reviews)This feeder definitely prevents squirrels from getting to suet cakes, but the inner cage where only small woodpeckers can enter, is not well designed. As the suet cake gets eaten and gets smaller, they fall away from the sides of the inner cage and then not even the woodpeckers can get to it.

Having shopped extensively for this garden feature, I can state absolutely that the value is unbeatable. Things to keep in mind (1)the bowl is not covered so seeds would get wet in an uncovered setting, (2) the bowl bottom has a drain hole to make cleaning/draining easy but no plug. It's easy to temporarily or permanently "plug" the hole using any of a variety of household items. The bowl works well to provide drinking water for birds but only a small bird could take a bath.

(More customer reviews)Check the dimensions, people. This is the world's smallest bird bath. It would be completely dwarfed by my garden. It will now hold Starburts and Airheads in my family room. It's very stylish with a lovely coppery patina. But it's a tabletop item, not a garden item. I'm keeping it because I needed a cool candy dish, but now I have to start hunting again for a funky birdbath.

(More customer reviews)We ordered the Droll Yankees THMINI 8-Inch Polished Pewter Mini Thistle Feeder from Amazon who placed the order with Picnic World Plus. They sent us the wrong feeder, an A-6 Mini Tubular 8" Feeder with a bent hanger. We called Picnic World Plus to get the right feeder shipped and a voucher to ship the wrong one back. Picnic World sent another wrong A-6 Mini Tubular 8" Feeder. We called again and were told the one we wanted was out of stock. We should've been told that from the beginning and an alternative should not have been made for us.
The thistle feeder was made specifically for the tiny thistle seeds which would fall out of a regular feeder like the A-6 Mini. Had the folks at Picnic World Plus known anything about the products or bothered to actually to look at the products they sell, they would've noticed the big difference between the two feeders.
As of yet, we have not received a return voucher for the first A-6 Mini sent to us, as promised. We'll be waiting for the second one which was promised to send both feeders back and get a refund!

Beck's Chickadee Feeder - Red 8/cs Review

(More customer reviews)I love this feeder and have used it for at least 7 or 8 years. It is great if you want to feed small birds.
I was surprised by the previous reviewer and understand why he did not like it if he tried to clean it by taking it apart. It is not designed to be taken apart and is very easy to clean without doing so. I just open the seed filler slot and spray the entire feeder with a safe cleaner, let it set for a few minutes and than rinse it with a hose and set it aside to dry. Takes almost no time and little effort. I use four of these. This allows me to have two in use while the other 2 are drying.
It is not hard to fill either. I keep my black oil sunflower seed in a large container. I open the seed slot, lay the feeder in the seed and shove the seed in with my other hand. Takes me about ten seconds.
Chickadees, Nuthatches, Titmice and Goldfinches regularly use my feeders. It is not unusual to see four goldfinches feeding at once. House finches who dominated my other feeders can not use this feeder. They try and give up.
I am ordering two more to replace two that have faded from years of use in the direct sun.

Hummingbird Latern Feeder 4485 Review

(More customer reviews)I thought this was a beautiful feeder & purchased it thinking I would add hummingbird seed for my gorgeous hummers to eat along with their nectar. That was before I learned that hummingbirds do not eat seed. They eat tiny bugs & spiders and feed on nectar only. I don't understand how a seed feeder can be sold that is only usable for larger birds and maybe a candle lantern. I will keep it for one of these purposes, but don't recommend this if you really want to attract hummingbirds.

It is ceramic so you have to be careful when handling or cleaning but seems very durable. Looks good in the back yard and squirrels haven't figured out how to lift the lid (yet).

(More customer reviews)First off you can only use large seed type feed in this feeder or it all spills out.Second the openings are plastic and once one is chewed larger then the oters all the seed comes out.Took about 3 days for the grey guys to figure this out.I put duct tape over the hole ,they chewed, to stop the seed from spilling out,lasted 2 days.Did I mention the smarty pants chewed the bottom opening ,like he knew all seed would then flow down.Scary Smart they are!Cost a lot for nothing!

Xlarge Buddha Statue Figural Garden Decor Yard Feeder Review

It was dark green and purely plastic looking. Upon writing the seller, here was the response:
"We only have one Buddha statue in stock so you received the correct item. In different lots they items can be darker or lighter. They do have somewhat a greener hue to them. Unfortunately images on a computer can different due to monitor settings. If you do not like the product we are always happy to accept a return and I can provide you with that information if you wish."
Now, a computer can provide a different hue, but when the description says "Granite Finish", and the product delivered is a dark green plastic, there is something wrong in the description. Blaming it on "monitor settings" is no excuse.
This will be returned as soon as possible.
