(More customer reviews)I ordered 2 of these as a replacement for one I that I had been using for years. The new feeder seems to be sturdier than the old one. I really like Woodlink brand feeders as they are always high quality and well designed.
The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, the hole in the lid allows the chain and hook to slide completely through the lid when refilling. This is a minor nusance and could be solved with a washer or some type of "Chain-stop". The birds love this sunflower feeder. Finches, woodpeckers and nuthatches all are frequent visitors. I also orderd the thistle feeder that is similar in design. It is the best thistle feeder that I have ever had.

(More customer reviews)The Stoke's have used their field guide success to brand many substandard products. This is a cheaply made, poorly designed feeder.
Look for a saucer feeder that holds 8-12 ounces of nectar. Change the nectar (four parts water, one part sugare) every four days.
Do not hang in the sun. Look at Aspects or Hummzinger feeders for the best results and real quality.

Birdscapes® 384 Festival Feeder, 1.8 capacity Review

(More customer reviews)I've had two of these feeders in copper, and neither of them lasted for more than a year! The fault is in the construction of the metal feeding/perching plate. It is simply bolted into the plastic tube, which is too weak to withstand the weight of the plate. So after being knocked down a time or two, whether by wind or the occasional squirrel, the plastic cracks under pressure and the entire bottom of the feeder breaks off with no way to be repaired.

I filled it with nectar and immediately sticky gummy poured out the bottom all over my kitchen and hardwood floors, etc. A mini-Nightmare! I took this piece of garbage back to the home depot the next day for a full refund. Birdscapes should be ashamed! I'd give this 0 stars if I could.

Peanut Black Oil Screen Feeder Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this feeder as an addition to another of the same style I've owned for the past 2 years. These feeders with their stainless steel mesh and non-ferrous metal painted tops and bottoms are very durable. Over the past 2 years in constant exposure to the elements, I've only noticed some fading of the paint, but of course no rust. The only thing I've added was a couple of perches protruding at right angles to each other through the mesh. I made them out of #8 stainless steel threaded stock and secured them with the appropriate sized stainless hex nuts. I really recommend these feeders; I've always got lots of customers feeding on the perches.

Do not trust this seller, he is not reliable. He/She could have at least responded to mails, NOTHING. And never got the Birdhouse, as Amazon is aware of this also. My worst transaction to date. I would not endourse this seller for Amazon.

(More customer reviews)There wasn't much information about this product when I ordered, but I took the chance, naively thinking it would hold 3 to 5 pounds of food. Ha! Try about 3 cups, which is 9 days for my cat. It looked like a scene from Godzilla in my kitchen as the cat towered over the miniature machine. I mean, CatZilla! Thank goodness my laughter is suppressing the frustration of having to send it back. It's a hilariously, odd, tiny size; like a clown car, you can't help but chuckle. Photo: [...]
Joking aside, it's a devise for fish or birds, but cat or small dog owners should not make the same mistake I did. This is NOT SUITABLE FOR SMALL MAMMALS.
Also, mine shipped without the bowl attachment. It is not sturdy; after filling it I accidentally picked it up by the top half which easily detached and resulted in 3 cups of food all over the floor. (So far, my cat is loving this machine!) I also find it a bit ridiculous that it takes 4 C batteries, comprising almost a quarter of the whole thing. lol!
I can't believe how difficult it is to find a good automatic cat feeder. My feline was too smart for LeBistro Petmate LeBistro Portion Control Automatic Pet Feeder, Black, 10 Pounds and could easily paw at the trap door and release extra food. I order this one for it's elephant-trunk looking dispenser to prevent kitty tampering, but again, it's too small for cats.

I've had my feeder for two years now, and no matter whether you set it up for sunflower seeds or finch seeds, the birds just give up on it after awhile. They simply can't get the seed out and we've never been able to figure out why. They will empty out feeder after feeder of any other brand, but even when I take all the others down to fill them and this one is the only one hanging, they won't feed out of it. It will hang, nearlly full for an entire season. Don't know what the problem is, but the birds just can't get anything out of it and after awhile, they give up.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this lovely hummingbird feeder and received it quickly and intact. It was easy to put together and looks great hanging up. My only problem? The hummingbirds have not started using it (and it's been hanging about a month). I change the nectar as I'm supposed to, but no luck yet. I saw one come up to it, but he couldn't figure out how to get into the food from the "blossom". I had to place it at a different place in the yard and rehang "old faithful". So, I am thankful it is so pretty so I can at least enjoy it whether or not the birds get the hang of it!

It is quite delicate, and is high maintenance as you have to keep it at least half full for the feeding tubes to reach the liquid, so since it's so small, you will have to fill it often. I will probably give it as a gift; too much fuss for me.

(More customer reviews)I agree that the birds have great difficulty retrieving seed from this feeder. I contacted the seller and they advised using only black oil sunflower seed. That is what I am using. With my old feeder, I had to refill several times a week. I filled this one several weeks ago and only had to refill yesterday. The birds land on it, try fruitlessly to get a seed, then leave. I'm losing my birds to the neighbors. Also, I find it difficult to fill. It has to be hanging to do so. I have my feeders hanging high to prevent squirrel and chipmunk access. I usually fill my feeders straight from the bag. Well it is a little difficult to lift a 25 lb. bag of feed above my head. So I have to use a scoop. Annoying.

(More customer reviews)It's important to know that while this may keep out squirrels, it WON'T keep out those "thug" birds.
I hung this feeder out today, because my local bird store told me it would keep out larger birds. Well, the grackles just love it. They've been hanging on it all day. Because the cage is only 8" in diameter, their long beaks easily reach through the cage to get the seed, and they've been jealously guarding it as their personal food source all morning. Sorry songbirds!
